Lately I have been in such an amazing place, one in which I have the ability to see all that has occurred throughout the course of my life all has happened simply to help guide me closer to where I am today.

This past weekend I was able to watch as my niece made her first holy communion with all the other children in her age group. I am in no way shape or form a religious person, but was able to feel the presence of a higher power in the church with me this past Saturday.

I felt it to the depths of my spirit as the gentle stirring from within that brought tears to my eyes.

On the alter platform they sat side by side, smiling and listening to the pastor intently. The little girls dressed in their white dresses, accented by jewel tiaras and veils, hair done in flowing curls. The boys wearing their navy blue suits and small clip on ties with their hair slicked back.

They looked so innocent and pure, so unaware of the many paths and journey’s that awaited them all.Life has not touched many of them yet in the ways that it can and will as they continue to grow older and become more aware of themselves.

I looked at them and pondered the many different paths they would all follow.

What would their stories be?
Would they survive to tell it to anyone?

I am fortunate….very fortunate.

I can see clearly now with the inner sense of understanding gained by a life lived in such contrasts that every…

Mistake.
Achievement.
Failure.
Success.

All were pieces of the cosmic picture puzzle of my life. Every day, hour, second, minute and moment of every event, circumstance and situation; All of it was exactly what it had to be. It was the way life spoke to me and the language of experience that I alone could understand. Each and every piece of this puzzle a nudge forward leading me closer to me, closer to the bigger picture.

Closer to the home that only exists within.
