Narconon does have a great program, they saved my life !!
That is why, they have so many centers across the U.S. & Canada.
If anyone is interested in other centers or other programs, there are some very good resources out there which can help find an appropriate treatment center for any addiction. There are all different types of Rehabilitation centers with different programs to choose from.

A miracle is a visible interruption of the laws of nature, such that can only be explained by divine intervention, and is usually associated with a miracle-worker.

Mary Rieser, Executive Director for Narconon Drug Rehab in Georgia stated: “Surveys show that kids are less likely to use illegal drugs if they know their parents strongly disapprove. We want to make drug prevention a family affair with a fun message for the kids. We can’t leave drug prevention up to the schools. Teachers are often overloaded and not trained in drug prevention. Narconon Drug Prevention staff are trained in all facets of drug abuse. We track the trends of the most abuse illegal drugs such as heroin, pot, methamphetamine and Xanax so we can keep the community informed. Narconon passes on this information through churches and families. In this society you can never start too early.”

recovering drug addicts and alcoholics have underlying issues and problems that are a major contribution to why they drink, abuse drugs, and become chemically dependent. Eventually the "Drug and/or Alcohol Solution" becomes a much greater problem than the original underlying problem.
If I get the jist of what you are trying to imply here you are suggesting that the emotional overhaul of recovery is more of a problem then me sticking a heroin loaded needle into my arm several times a day, then I would have to disagree with you.
A solution of any kind is more powerful then a problem of any kind.
Addiction is a disease...I know, because I have my own experience as an addict to back it up. I would rather deal with the solution of recovery any day, rather then suffer in the grips of an addiction of any kind.
Addicts and alcoholics are not the only ones that have underlying issues or problems...I know many so called "normal" people that suffer from the very same issues that addicts might suffer from...yet because they don't have they "symptoms" of drug abuse they will just stay sick from their own "issues" for the course of their lives.....addiction in the greater scheme of things allows those afflicted to address many of the issues we all face if they choose to recover.
