Hi Morgan! What a great post

It's so true that simply treating addiction does not solve the problem for most people. I think sometimes, the other problems that go with addiction (like personality disorders, etc.) are even more difficult to deal with. In my own case, quitting drugs was and is only part of my treatment. I'll be in recovery the rest of my life - it's a wonderful place to be. Thanks for this post, you always inspire me!
Hey Bobby! I'm with you on this one. Abstinence from any and all mind or mood altering substances was just the first steps in my own process of recovery....I know that because of that I was offered a freedom never thought possible...

So very true. It is hard to say, "I need help". Just three small words that have such tremendous impact.

Hi Morgan! :-)
Hi Speedy!!! I agree with you 100%...those three little words were the hardest words I ever had to utter from my mouth....but when I did changed the entire course of my life...for the better!

Yes, help and hope is available to those brave enough to go through their anger and pain and to stick with treatment. I actually believe that all addictions have a co-occurring mental health diagnosis...at the very least depression. Substances are often used to self-medication and only once sober do some of the mental illnesses show themselves. Anyway, I'm preaching to the choir. I am so glad that you had the courage and are using it to help others.
Thanks Clinical......This week has been a rough week in relation to many people choosing to pick up "one last time" and now they never will get that opportunity to get help or find hope....it's a devastating disease that leaves such wreckage in it's aftermath.
